Since the nineteenth century, retouching the image has been a tool for the lens artists, who in their eagerness to capture reality in photography, injected color. Some of these safe images are like the ones that start your family album, and are very characteristic because rather than photographs, they look like portraits done by a painter. These photopaintings used pastels mostly, but it was until the introduction of the Kodachrome roll in 1935 that this technique of painting was no longer the favorite of photographers. However, today we see again this retro- technique, perhaps because of the melancholy or the fact that there is a greater rapprochement with the materials, which allows us to understand the photography from the bases. One of them is the photographer Sha De Tar, who in the style of Jan Saudek resumes painting to capture photographs of a sixties style and vintage. This photographer, unlike those artists who sought color to accurately portray what they saw, creates with her models fantastic scenarios, typical of any psychedelic tale that definitely reflect the mastery of color that it has. The whole of its lines, the use of color disinhibition, the natural scenarios and the models that run, jump, swim, and undress, are an exaltation of freedom. "I guess I'm trying to create a new world in every picture I wish I could live ... I try to create a moment that is much more attractive than what I have in front of me." Shae Detar
